Reading with my girl

Shannon is now reading rainbow magic series storybook. These are the books i ordered from oversea few month backs. And now, she is ready to read..

Very easy to read with pictures. She read at least 10 pages a day (demanded by her mummy, heehee) inoreder to practice her reading skill after the ladybirds keywords series. Sometimes, she read 20 pages when she is not tired.

Apparently, she is picking up new words such as ''ímmediately', ''definitely', thoughtfully',''annoying'etc. Meaning of these words are being explained to her at the same time but not sure how much she has absorbed! She begins to know how to pronoune words ending with ''ing'', ''tion'', ''ting', ''ly'', ''ty' etc. These words are not taught in phonic. Now, she read more confidently.. 10pages, she can read very fast..

My sister commented that Shannon is smart and has a patience muumy. I should said it is perservance that makes me keep going.. Shannon is a active girl and initially, to ask her to sit still and read is no easy task.. I have to sweet talks, to bribe her with tibbits.. Once we get started, it becomes a habit and she will follow naturally.. And today, she said this to me : ''mummy, we havent read storybook today''. It makes me feel happy as my effort is being paid off.

Being a housewife, i felt that it is a waste of time or didnt make good use of time if i did not coach my kids. Will felt guilty.. I think kiasuness also play a part. I hope i did not stress her.. She still enjoy her Comprehension n Berries classes and never complain about it.

Morale of the story, be persistance in things you do and you will see the result in due course. Never give up..
